Thats right Ocala show up in force at Daytona Beach. Trey Cook had an awesome showing but it didnt start out well. With a poor qualifying effort for Trey with a ton of crashes in his first run and a DNS in his second qualifier he did manage to secure the 3rd starting spot for the 20 min Feature. From the tone he quickly moved into second and set his sights on the leader. With a ton of crashes Trey found himself about 11 seconds down at the half way mark. This is when Trey took over the race he finally decided to quit going for the triple they he crashed on every other lap and began to drive with his head knowing that he was faster then the leader. Lap aftet lap 8 seconds back, 6 , 4, 2 and "Trey cook takes the lead"! He then put some distance on second place and took the win! Tim Davis ( he is a club member) went on to take the J82/Truck class. I went on to TQ and Win the Slash class. I will say this there layout was awesome the traction however in slash not so good. Even in practice running GooseBumps I was having some trouble finding grip, I knew I was in for a long day with the Stock Tires. All in all it was a great trip, the facility is top notch and the track layout was killer as always. They even grilled out and gave out free food, which explains why Vern was there.
Things we learned this weekend: Goosebumps on White Wheels = Dialed Goosebumps on Masons B4 = Winner Not crashing wins Evidently taking apart the tranny and modding the Diff in the Slash is OK.. but modding the rear arms for added toe is cheating. Winners get accused of Cheating at their home track and away Funniest Statement "Ive modded the S*** out of my slash and I cant catch him" Free food brings Vern out Gayest Statement " Matt I really had fun racing with you this weekend" - Tim
